DSL Questions

DSL Modem troubleshooting (read this first)
If you are having issues with your DSL connection, please start by “rebooting” your DSL modem. You do this by taking the power from the modem, waiting 30-seconds and then putting power back to the modem. It will take about 30-seconds to “boot up”. Once this is done, look at your lights – if you have a solid green DSL and Internet light, you should be good. If either is BLINKING, then there might be an issue. See the information below or contact us at (509) 688-2550.

What does it mean if my DSL light is flashing?
If the DSL light is flashing at regular intervals it is not seeing the DSL signal from Qwest. The light might flicker at times – when this issue occurs, the light will flash and you’ll notice that it is blanking consistently.

Check all phones in the house – every phone should have a filter (except the one connected to the modem). If all phones are filtered, disconnect every phone and see if the light stops flashing. If it does, then connect one phone at a time to see what filter is bad.

Check all wires from the modem to the wall jack – replace it if you have a spare to verify that it’s not the cable. Verify that the line is plugged into the LINE jack, not the phone jack on the modem.

Plug the modem into another phone jack within the house.

Call WebBand support at 509-688-2550 – we’ll check to see if the signal is trained.

What does it mean if my Internet light is flashing?
If you have a solid DSL light and either a flashing or red Internet light, then you probably have a past due bill with WebBand. In this situation, you are connected to Qwest (solid, green DSL light), but the connection is being blocked or suspended by WebBand (flashing or red Internet light).

Please contact us at 509-688-2550 to pay your bill or have us check your modem settings (user name, password or PPPoA – see settings above).
