How do I setup Dial-Up Service on a Windows 98/ME system?
Use the Internet Connection Wizard to connect your computer to WebBand Dial-up if you use Windows 98 or ME.
Click the Start button in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen
Click Programs
Click Accessories
The Connection Wizard is located in either the Connection menu , or the Internet Tools menu. If you can’t find it, use Help to search for the link to this feature.
Once you click on the Internet Connection Wizard , Three options will appear, choose the third option, “I want to set up my Internet connection manually”
Click Next .
Choose the first option “I connect through a phone line and a modem” .
Click Next.
Normally, you do not need to include the area code. Uncheck “Dial using the area code and country code” box.
In the Telephone Number: field, type the WebBand access number you were given at setup.
Click Next.
In the Username box enter your WebBand username. This is the email address you selected when first signing up. If you chose “bobsmith@webband.com” then you’d use bobsmith@webband.com as your username here.
In the Password box, type your WebBand password
Click Next.
Enter WebBand in the Connection name: field.
Click Next
If you would like to set up Outlook Express for your e-mail client, select Yes.
Click Next to proceed.
Select No to skip mail configuration and click Next to finish setting up the WebBand dial-up connection.
How do I setup Dial-Up Service on a Windows 2000 system?
Click the Start button
Click Settings
Choose Control Panel
Double-click the Network and Dial-up Connections icon.
Double-click the Make New Connection icon.
Click the Next button.
Select Dial-up to the Internet.
Click the Next button.
Select “ I want to set up my Internet connection manually ….” .

Click the Next button.

In the Password field, type your password .
Click the Next button.
In the Connection Name field, type WebBand
Click the Next button.

Click New Connection Wizard
Once you click on the New Connection Wizard , the screen below should appear.
Choose the option Connect to the Internet
Click Next
Choose Connect using a dialup modem
Click Next
For ISP name field, Enter WebBand
Click Next
For ISP’s Phone Number to enter In the Phone Number field, type the WebBand access number you were given at sign-up.
Click Next
Enter your user name and password in the fields provided. Make sure to use your full email address in the user name field. If you chose “bobsmith@webband.com” as your email address you’ll want to use bobsmith@webband.com as your user name.
Check mark the option “Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the internet from this computer”
Check the option “Make this the default internet connection ”
WebBand recommends that you uncheck the option for “Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection”
Click Next
Choose the option Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop.
Once you click Finish , your account has been set up and saved in your system.
Congratulations! You’re finished.
How do I setup Dial-Up Service on a Windows Vista/7 system?
Click the Windows Button (Start Button)
Click Network
Click Network and Sharing Center on the top tool bar.
Click Set up a connection or network on the left side of the window.
Click the Set up a dial-up connection and click Next.
Enter the appropriate dial-up number that you were given at signup.
Enter your username (full e-mail address, i.e. bobsmith@webband.com) and password into their respective boxes. You will need to re-enter the password in the second password box. Click Next to continue.
Make sure Remember this password is checked
Type WebBand into the Connection name box
Click Connect
Click Set up connection anyway
Click Close
How do I setup Dial-Up Service on a Mac OSX system?
Open “System Preferences”
With System Preferences open click “Network”.
Look for “Show:” and select “Internal Modem” from the drop down list.
Next select the “TCP/IP” tab.
In the “Configure:” list select “Using PPP”.
Next click the “PPP” tab
In “Service Provider:” type WebBand.com
In “Account Name:” type your full WebBand email address.
In “Password:” type the password you provided.
In “Telephone Number:” enter one of the number you were given at setup
Finally hit the “Apply Now” button and you can close Network.
Now to logon to WebBand click the “Finder”icon.
In the top right corner you’ll see the “Applications” icon. click it to open it.
Find “Internet Connect” and click it to open it.
You should see a window similar to the one below. Ensure your modem is connected to your Mac and click Connect to dial into WebBand and get online.
